20 May Iris Garden – Florence
This capricious spring makes the weather very variable since the half of the April and alternates moments of sun and wonderful sky with white puffy clouds on light blue background, and moments of thunderstorms and let’s say cool temperatures. However, luckily we are approaching the nice season and this brings not only good weather, but also flowering of trees and flowers.
I wanted to make a short visit to a panoramic garden situated under the Michelangelo Square, I mean the Iris garden. Although it is open the whole year but the period of flowering is from the end of April to the end of May.
I had never been before in this beautiful place where there is concentrated a great variety of Iris coming from all over the world, with an infinity of colours, you feel like immersing yourself into a kaleidoscope.
Marvellous…. It’s a pity that they last so short time. I wanted also remind that red Iris is the symbol of Florence. We have given a present to ourselves: a garden dedicated especially to “our” flower.
